There would be no video games today if it wasn’t for Mario; period. Mario was the epitome of what a really good game should be- fun, challenging and loved by everyone. Mario, even in its 2-dimensional design was a flawless game. There are lots of Mario games that are made nowadays by - all 3D and with very good graphics and immensely improved playability. These are also a lot of other games that will blow you away with the storyline and the gameplay that are on the same or other platforms; all of which are on High-Definition graphics. Although we have improved our technology drastically, we should not forget what we used to do in times past and how much fun we had with whatever we had, because old IS gold, even if it is technically bronze.
Ah, the arcades of the good old days where we used to spend a huge chunk of our times playing Mario arcade games. Super Mario games have greatly evolved during this span of time- there are numerous other Mario games like racing and different adventures and what not, that Nintendo has come up with. However, the truth remains; the original Super Mario was the primitive 2-D, and this game was just as fun, if not better than all its successors in the market today. You may have nothing to do at work and need a good jolt of gaming to get you back on track; then why not play some Mario games? Well, I don’t have a game console at work. Guess what, you don’t need to! All you need is a computer and an internet connection and you can enjoy Mario for free. Just go to a site like http://www.mariogames1.com/ and pick from your choice of Mario games. It is free because Mario of old should be something that people of today should be able to enjoy without an ancient gaming console. Since it is relatively small enough to be run on basic internet, why not? You can play the traditional or slightly modified Super Mario games or even other games like Luigi or Mario racing or other slightly amped up games like Mario dress up or Mafia Mario. You can also give the kids a good run of education with memory games and puzzle games as they both learn and discover who and what Mario was and still is.
All these games are run on flash and take very little time to load; very good if you have an extra 15 minutes to eat up. Another thing to remember is that Mario is arguably the best video game ever invented; debatably with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Those of us that were able to enjoy Mario when he was relatively young should pay homage to what he brought us back then, with the simple graphics and relative uncomplicated gameplay. Let us not forget the Mario games of old nor snub out the little guy in red and blue that brought us so much fun, whether at the arcade games or at home.
